Alzheimer: Experten fordern bessere Diagnostik und mehr Unterstützungsangebote

Zum Weltalzheimertag haben Experten in Deutschland eine bessere Diagnostik und mehr Unterstützungsangebote gefordert. Von neuen Medikamenten profitiere nur ein kleiner Teil der Betroffenen, erklärte die Vorsitzende der Deutschen Alzheimergesellschaft, Monika Kaus, am Freitag in Berlin. Menschen mit fortgeschrittener Alzheimerkrankheit, mit Begleiterkrankungen oder einer anderen Form der Demenz "werden davon nicht profitieren". Auch könne die Krankheit mit den neuen Medikamenten nicht gestoppt werden, so dass die Hilfsbedürftigkeit in jedem Fall steige.
