Der chinesische Reifenhersteller Linglong Tire hat die Produktion in seinem neuen Werk in Serbien gestartet. Staatschef Aleksandar Vucic nannte die Fabrik in Zrenjanin im Norden des Landes bei der Einweihungsfeier am Freitag die größte ausländische Direktinvestition in Serbien jemals. Für Linglong ist es der erste Fertigungsstandort in Europa.

Die Arbeitgeber hätten bei dem Treffen für den Bezirk Berlin Brandenburg am Freitag "kein Angebot" vorgelegt, monierte die IG Metall. "Zur ersten Runde haben sie nichts mitgebracht als völlig überzogene Untergangsszenarien und Endzeitvisionen", erklärte Verhandlungsführer Dirk Schulze. "Das muss sich rasch ändern."
Oberstes Gericht in Großbritannien kippt Genehmigung für neue Kohlemine
Das Oberste Gericht in Großbritannien hat die Genehmigung für ein neues Kohlebergwerk im nordenglischen Whitehaven gekippt. "Die Annahme, dass die vorgeschlagene Mine nicht zu einem Nettoanstieg der Treibhausgasemissionen (...) führen würde, ist rechtlich falsch", erklärte das Londoner Gericht am Freitag und gab einer entsprechenden Klage von Umweltgruppen statt. Das Bergbauprojekt in der nordwestenglischen Grafschaft Cumbria wäre die erste Kohlemineneröffnung im Land seit 30 Jahren.
Wegen Evergrande-Pleite: China sperrt Wirtschaftsprüfer PwC für sechs Monate
Die chinesischen Behörden haben die Wirtschaftsprüfer des Branchenriesen Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) wegen ihrer Rolle bei der Pleite des Immobilienkonzerns Evergrande für sechs Monate gesperrt. PwC habe bei der Prüfung des Evergrande-Geschäfts gegen Sorgfaltspflichten verstoßen, erklärte das Finanzministerium in Peking am Freitag. Neben der Sperre muss das US-Unternehmen demnach 441 Millionen Yuan (56 Millionen Euro) Strafe zahlen und seine Niederlassung in Guanzhou schließen.
Rechnungshof warnt Koalition vor Folgen von Rentenpaket II
Der Bundesrechnungshof hat massive Kritik an den Rentenplänen der Bundesregierung geübt. In einem Gutachten, aus dem der "Spiegel" am Freitag zitierte, warnen die Rechnungsprüfer vor "enormen Ausgabensteigerungen der Rentenversicherung" durch das geplante Rentenpaket II. Bis zum Jahr 2045 summierten sich die zusätzlichen Ausgaben der Alterskasse auf 507 Milliarden Euro - "damit stiegen die Rentenausgaben im Durchschnitt um 25 Milliarden Euro jährlich." Dies werde eine kräftige Erhöhung der Beitragssätze nach sich ziehen.

Bundesregierung fordert Verschiebung von EU-Gesetz gegen Abholzung
Die Bundesregierung hat von der EU-Kommission die spätere Anwendung des Gesetzes für entwaldungsfreie Lieferketten gefordert. So viele Beschäftigte wie nie, deutlich gestiegene Löhne sowie ein hoher Krankenstand: Die Kosten der Arbeitgeber für die Lohnfortzahlung im Krankheitsfall sind laut einer Schätzung im vergangenen Jahr auf eine Rekordsumme von fast 77 Milliarden Euro gestiegen. Damit hätten sich die Kosten binnen 14 Jahren mehr als verdoppelt, erklärte das arbeitgebernahe Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft (IW) am Freitag - allerdings nominal, also nicht preisbereinigt.
Sozialverbände warnen vor Sparvorgaben im Bundeshaushalt 2025
Zum Abschuss der Haushaltswoche im Bundestag haben die Sozialverbände die Abgeordneten zu Nachbesserungen am Etatentwurf aufgefordert. Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier hat zu spürbaren Lösungen beim Vorgehen gegen die irreguläre Migration aufgerufen. "Es ist jetzt an den Parteien der demokratischen Mitte, eine Lösung für die Themen zu präsentieren, die die Menschen umtreiben", sagte Steinmeier am Freitag im ARD-"Morgenmagazin". Die Deutsche Bahn hat den Verkauf ihrer profitablen Logistiktochter Schenker an den dänischen Konzern DSV besiegelt. Der Vorstand habe am Freitag einen entsprechenden Vertrag zur Veräußerung von Schenker an den dänischen Logistikkonzern unterzeichnet, teilte die Bahn am Morgen mit. DSV zahlt demnach 14,3 Milliarden Euro, inklusive der bis zum Vollzug des Geschäfts erwarteten Zinsen ergibt sich ein Gesamtverkaufswert von 14,8 Milliarden Euro.
Ifo: Kurzarbeit in der deutschen Industrie nimmt zu
In der deutschen Industrie ist in den vergangenen Monaten die Kurzarbeit angestiegen - und sie dürfte weiter zunehmen: Nach Angaben des Münchner Ifo-Instituts waren im August 14,3 Prozent der Firmen betroffen, nach 12,5 Prozent im Mai. Wie das Institut unter Berufung auf die eigenen Konjunkturumfragen am Freitag weiter mitteilte, erwarten 23 Prozent der Unternehmen für die kommenden drei Monate Kurzarbeit.

Der Bundestag schließt am Freitag die erste Runde der Haushaltsberatungen ab. In vielen Supermärkten und Geschäften war es am Donnerstag mehrere Stunden lang nicht möglich, mit Debit-, Kredit- oder Girokarte zu bezahlen. Wie die Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft mitteilte, ging die Störung auf Probleme bei einem Dienstleister zurück, der für viele Banken und Sparkassen die Kartenzahlung abwickelt. Die Störung begann demnach am frühen Morgen. Am Nachmittag erklärte der Verband dann, das Problem sei behoben. Zahlungen seien wieder "mit allen Karten wie gewohnt möglich".
EZB senkt wichtigsten Leitzins um 0,25 Punkte auf 3,5 Prozent
Die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) hat ihren zentralen Leitzins um 0,25 Prozentpunkte gesenkt. Der Einlagezins, zu dem Geschäftsbanken Geld bei der EZB anlegen, fällt damit auf 3,5 Prozent, wie die Notenbank am Donnerstag in Frankfurt am Main mitteilte. Wegen einer technischen Umstellung sanken die beiden weiteren Leitzinssätze, der Hauptrefinanzierungssatz und der Spitzenrefinanzierungssatz, stärker - um jeweils 0,6 Prozentpunkte.

Zahlung per Karte nicht möglich: In vielen Geschäften konnten Kundinnen und Kunden am Donnerstag ihre Debit- oder Kreditkarte nicht nutzen, auch viele Girokarten funktionierten nicht. Krise bei VW: Tarifverhandlungen starten früher als geplant
Die ursprünglich für Ende Oktober geplanten Tarifverhandlungen bei Volkswagen starten bereits am 25. September. Die IG Metall Niedersachsen teilte am Donnerstag mit, das Volkswagen-Management habe sich nach "massivem Druck" der Gewerkschaft dazu bereit erklärt, dass die Verhandlungen früher als geplant beginnen. In den betroffenen Fabriken werden die Maschinen 737 und 777 gefertigt.
Verkaufspreise im Großhandel gehen erneut zurück
Die Verkaufspreise im Großhandel sind auch im August weiter zurückgegangen. Wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Donnerstag erklärte, waren die Großhandelspreise im vergangenen Monat 1,1 Prozent niedriger als im August des Vorjahres. Verglichen mit dem Vormonat fielen sie um 0,8 Prozent. Ausschlaggebend war ein starker Preisrückgang bei Mineralölerzeugnissen um 7,7 Prozent. Die Entwicklung der Großhandelspreise nimmt die Entwicklung der Verbraucherpreise teils vorweg.
Zahl anerkannter ausländischer Berufsabschlüsse 2023 um 25 Prozent gestiegen
Im vergangenen Jahr sind in Deutschland erneut mehr im Ausland erworbene Berufsabschlüsse anerkannt worden. Wie das Statistische Bundesamt in Wiesbaden am Donnerstag mitteilte, wurden 2023 rund 65.300 Anerkennungsverfahren positiv beschieden. Das war ein Plus von 25 Prozent verglichen mit dem Vorjahr. 2022 waren bereits elf Prozent mehr ausländische Abschlüsse als 2021 anerkannt worden.
Unicredit-Chef: Übernahme der Commerzbank ist Option
Die Übernahme der Commerzbank durch die italienische Unicredit ist nach Angaben von deren Chef eine Option, die geprüft werde. Darüber sowie auch über andere Möglichkeiten werde derzeit gesprochen, sagte Andrea Orcel am Donnerstag dem Sender Bloomberg Television. Die italienische Bank hatte diese Woche neun Prozent Anteile an dem deutschen Geldinstitut erworben und Interesse bekundet, weitere Anteile zu übernehmen.
ADAC-Raststätten-Test: Ein Fünftel der Anlagen mit "gut" bewertet
Der ADAC hat erneut Raststätten entlang der deutschen Autobahnen getestet - ein Fünftel der 40 Anlagen im Test wurden mit "gut" bewertet, sechs Anlagen fielen durch, wie der Automobilclub am Donnerstag mitteilte. Die Tester prüften die Raststätten demnach in fünf Kategorien - bei den Preisen in der Gastronomie erhielten zwei Drittel der Anlagen die Wertung "günstig" oder "sehr günstig". Die Tankstellenshops auf den Rastanlagen stuften die Tester dagegen zu 75 Prozent als "teuer" oder "sehr teuer" ein.
